Almost 2 years ago we were driving around Corpus Christi looking for places we thought we could build our brewery. We came upon 401 S. Water St., saw the palm trees and it’s 1980’s EKG lines, and laughed at how preposterous it would be if we could get a building this awesome! The back of the building was open, and some guys were hanging around in what seemed to be a zombie storage room. We asked them who owned the building and if any space was available. “It ain’t available!” For sure, there were zombies in there.
Fast forward another year and miraculously the building had been purchased and was now available. “It’s a sign!”
401 S. Water St. was once upon a time a car dealership and then later became a news station. Since it’s had a few other small businesses but mainly it’s been a 67,000sqft air pocket / zombies storage facility.
Then along came two dudes and the crazy idea of starting Nueces Brewing Company.
We’re now poised to transfer this,
into this!
It’s a lofty goal that downtown Corpus Christi deserves. We’re super excited to remodel this building while keeping a bit of its old flare. New palm trees!
We’ll be installing new drain and water lines, rewiring the building, and installing a 15bbl brew house by Deutsche Beverage. The old showroom will become our taproom so that you can come enjoy our brews and meet the crew! We also have plans for a large deck outside complete with a food truck lot. Yeah!
We can’t wait to see you at the brewery!
Stay tuned for regular updates!
